Why should the voters elect you to office?

As a Northsider who has felt the impacts of poverty and housing instability, I deeply understand our community's needs. We face rising rents, falling wages, and skyrocketing costs for healthcare and groceries. As your representative, I will continue to address these crises with the seriousness, groundedness in community, and policy solutions it demands. As a teacher, community organizer, and proud Northsider, I know we are stronger together— count on me to listen, organize, and fight for you.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority is ensuring we continue to preserve fully funded public education, like we did this year for the first time in over a decade. As a teacher, I shouldn't have to rely on GoFundMes or out-of-pocket expenses to support my students. To achieve this, we must end the financial restraints of TABOR to both protect and truly fully fund public education as well as restructuring our state's tax code to benefit all people rather than just the rich. Fully funding education is an essential investment in our children — our communities depend on their growth and success.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

My extensive experience as an attorney, law professor and judge have prepared me to represent the residents of House District 4 and serve the State. Through leadership and tenacity, I figured out how to navigate spaces that weren’t created with women or minorities in mind. As a pragmatic progressive, I understand that every issue is complicated and I know that solutions come through collaboration and the capacity to listen to all of the stakeholders.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

Voters consistently list housing as the top issue. To address one piece of the concerns raised, I will introduce a bill to provide parity to property owners who are on fixed incomes and do not have property taxes taken in escrow by expanding the number of payment options and allowing the homeowners to make payments over time. The bill will require a realignment of state assessment payments from the counties.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

My community wants a representative who is willing to collaborate, listen, and fight for the values that are so important to my district: increasing the supply of affordable housing, protecting our environment, defending reproductive rights, and lowering the cost of living. I feel that my life of service has prepared me to effectively represent HD6 and successfully navigate solutions to Colorado’s biggest challenges through the State House.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority is to increase the supply of housing at all price points. State resources and incentives will be crucial to building new housing so that every Coloradan has access to affordable housing. The state must plan smartly and carefully to accommodate this growth in a sustainable manner that prioritizes long-term benefits over short-term solutions.

Why should the voters return you to office?

I have delivered for the people of Boulder and kept my promises to them. In my first term, I passed 36 bills, including expanding a tax credit for low-income adults, protecting low-income renters from evictions, creating a bill of rights for youths in state care, reducing barriers for bilingual childcare providers, and strengthening regulations on the oil and gas industry. I understand HD10's diverse needs because I face everyday challenges alongside our community. I will continue advocating for all of us.

What is your top priority if returned to office and how will it be funded?

As vice chair of House Finance, I have become quite an expert at finding money at the Capitol to fund Boulder’s priorities. It takes a lot of advocacy with departments, Joint Budget Committee staffers and committee chairs, and conversations with lobbyists and colleagues. I will continue to advocate for a fairer criminal justice system, prioritizing restoration and community well-being. I will champion sustainability and conservation to combat climate change. I will work to create opportunities for all, including youth, regardless of economic status. I will advocate for accessible, inclusive, affordable healthcare services.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I’ll represent HD10 well because I’ve done decades of meaningful work in areas the district cares about. That includes science and the environment, education, reproductive justice, and the well-being of current and retired workers. I’m devoted to public service, working collaboratively toward practical solutions, and helping people gain access to opportunity. I’m a consensus builder who will listen to input from all segments of our community, because that’s the job of a representative.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

I’ve been an educator and education advocate most of my life, so adequate education funding is my top priority. Public education opens opportunity for all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, while also providing food, security, assistance for families, counseling, and much more. As a Representative, I’ll be active in School Finance Act and budget discussions, I’ll support or introduce ballot measures to boost funding, and I will fight 2024 ballot measures that threaten education funding.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

The voters should elect me because I will stand strong for truth and justice. Much has changed since our Declaration of Independence and our US Constitution were enacted, but they are still valid today, and need to be followed in our governance. I will stand for life, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to bear arms. I believe in liberty and the pursuit of happiness, which means I will vote for less government intervention in our lives. Government has limited responsibilities and authority, more should be at the local level, and the most should remain with the People.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority will be the right to life. Pre-born citizens deserve a future just as much as everyone else. My second priority will be combating the crime associated with our open borders. Colorado has seen a dramatic increase in human trafficking, murders, fentanyl deaths, car thefts and many other crimes. This is exacerbated by a judicial system that is returning offenders to the streets without them even posting bond, and unfortunately, they are committing the same crimes again and again. We need to collaborate with border patrol and the police. Each household, including the low-income ones, is paying $1,000-$1,500 annually in increased costs due to our porous borders.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I’m the only proven and experienced conservative leader in the HD-20 race. My 10 years of active-duty Air Force service involved five years of JAG Corps experience, where I held criminals accountable. As a charter school board vice chairman, I’ve been on the frontlines of the parental rights and school choice fights. My two years working for House Republicans at the Capitol means I know how to fight battles while also getting results.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

We are taxed, fee’d, and regulated to death. HD-20 residents are struggling like most Coloradans to make ends meet. I oppose any new added costs, and fully support repealing current ones. Our state budget has ballooned from around $30 billion in 2019 to over $40 billion in 2024. The government always wants more for their latest pet projects. The state government doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a prioritization and spending problem.

I am a True Constitutional Conservative who will fight hard to secure my constituents Constitutional Rights. I will stand firm in matters affecting liberties, reducing government's reach, reducing government spending and will fight to toughen penalties for violent and sex crimes and will work hard to end Colorado's Sanctuary State status. As the only small business owner in the race, I understand the impact that legislation has on our local businesses, workforce and everyday lives of consumers.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

It doesn't cost a dime to reduce regulations and improve our economic outcomes. It doesn't cost a dime to reduce the drastic cost of illegal immigration at a cost of $851 per Colorado household. It doesn't cost a dime to hold accountable the publicly funded K-12 schools and Higher Education who have prioritized radical ideology over education. Our state legislature has a bad habit of passing bills that hinder the financial stability of Coloradans.

Why should the voters return you to office?

There are two Republicans that are challenging me in the primary. One is newly moved from Florida and expects that Colorado will be like Florida. We know that it is not, but this candidate will have to do some homework. The other candidate is very inexperienced and may not have an understanding of the legislative function. I have four years of experience in the legislature with two years being in caucus leadership. My understanding of the needs and desires of the voters of District 21 comes from many years of working with community leaders and political leaders. I understand the role of the Colorado General Assembly. Experience counts!

What is your top priority if returned to office and how will it be funded?

I was fortunate to co-sponsor HB24-1237, programs for the development of child care facilities. Unfortunately, this bill got started later in the session and much of the money that should have gone to it was already obligated. This bill has so many people, organizations, and businesses that believe this is so important in community planning. The parts of 1237 that could not be funded will be the focus of the new bill.

Why should voters elect you to office?

I’m the only candidate in this race who can begin “Making Colorado Red Again” on Day One. I bring 50 years of political thought through my education and my writings through published books, political songs, along with being a former political analyst and a former Congressional Candidate. I will be actionable on Day One. One opponent has sided with the liberal Democrats for four years in the state legislature, while the other opponent has no experience in politics or political education.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

I will introduce legislation to remove the Colorado state income tax. This will have a great effect in “Making Colorado Red Again.” This legislation will be a magnet for other conservatives to bring their businesses and their families to reside. I will introduce funding by removing wasteful liberal policy and redirecting current funds that are in the state treasury without increasing taxes.

I’ll stay in the fight to build a Colorado, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, no matter their zip code or socioeconomic status.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

In addition to the protections mentioned above, I plan to reform our health and social service systems so that Coloradans who are struggling find no wrong door when trying to get help. We have siloed and fragmented systems that are spending redundantly and not improving outcomes. I have a plan to make our communities healthier and happier while saving taxpayer dollars by investing upstream and putting the person, rather than the payer, in the center.

Why should voters elect you to office?

House District 30 deserves a representative who has proven they are willing to show up, roll up their sleeves and do the hard work, and understands that support is earned and not assumed. My experience, as both a therapist and elected official, has been all about finding creative solutions that actually make a difference and drive change. I’ve spent my life fighting for people who fall through the cracks, and I’ll keep doing that work at the capitol if elected.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

Our current ratio of mental health providers to kids in schools is about 1:1,500 and the widely accepted standard is 1:500, so we are underserving kids who need support because of a lack of providers in the building. I’d like to study having more schools/districts partnering with existing outside providers and the use of existing Medicaid dollars to increase the amount of mental health professionals serving kids in schools, meeting them where they’re at, and making sure no one falls through the cracks.

Why should voters elect you to office?

To be an effective leader and get things done at the state legislature, you must rely on relationships and collaboration. I've passed several bipartisan bills to address the needs and concerns I’ve heard directly from constituents. My commitment to fairness, transparency, and compassion has earned the support of my Democrat colleagues as well as community organizations and labor unions. Thornton is my home, and I'm deeply invested in our future. I promise to listen, be present, and advocate for our district’s priorities.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority is reducing the high cost of housing for young people, families, renters, and seniors. While we've made progress, affordability remains a critical issue, both for home ownership and renting. We'll fund this by increasing investments in affordable housing programs, ensuring efficient use of existing resources, and working with the industry to find real solutions to the issues facing development. By prioritizing sustainable development and community-based solutions, I want to make housing more accessible for all.

I will protect our rights as working people, as well as support our public schools and students.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority is to address affordability for Coloradans. The cost of living is felt particularly by seniors, as well as Coloradans who are trying to find a safe and reliable house to call home. We need resources to help our aging population remain financially stable, and must develop better paths for home ownership. As your next champion in the legislature, I'll seek federal grants, local partnerships, and clarify our priorities in the legislature.

There are too many issues to focus on just one: Public safety, affordability, parental control of education and property taxes are my priorities. Why should the voters elect you to office?

I am a first-time candidate, not a career politician. We need a fresh conservative voice representing Highlands Ranch at the Capitol. The status quo of career politicians controlled by special interest groups has led to inflation, open borders, rising crime, higher taxes and political gridlock. I intend to serve my community and then return to the private sector. I am committed to ensuring public safety, reducing property taxes, promoting economic growth and protecting our rights.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority is ensuring the safety of all Coloradans. Colorado is considered the 3rd most dangerous state in the U.S. and that is simply unacceptable. My goal, using existing funds, is to ensure law enforcement agencies have the tools, resources, training and personnel necessary to keep our communities safe. We need solutions-based legislators providing real results for Colorado residents, and that is exactly what I will bring. Public safety is a major priority to so many, I support law enforcement, and I am endorsed by Sheriff Darren Weekly and Commander (retired) John Anderson of the Castle Rock Police Department.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

To support local law enforcement agencies and ensure their efforts to protect our communities are not impeded by poor state policy. Quite the opposite — I want the state to stay out of the business of local policing and keep reduce state government/interference.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I feel like I can be the voice of common sense and experience for the residents of Pueblo county. I have the southern Colorado knowledge to move us forward. When I was the president of the Pueblo West Board of Directors, I voted for the protection of our family values, Colorado’s natural resources, and am a champion of employees that support our economy.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority would be strengthening our state’s economy. The American family is suffering just to bring food to the table. Working with local and state leaders to curb cost, encourage businesses, and bringing underutilized trades back into the work force. Most of this would be taken up by partnerships with businesses and encouraging or using grants from and for non-profits.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I have been a public servant for 20 years. I am currently a CU Regent. I have a deep understanding of policy governance, the development and oversight of policies, similar to what the legislature does. I am an aquatic scientist, and I can lend my expertise in both public education and science to the legislature. As a scientist, I use a data-based approach to problem solving. I have over 100 endorsem*nts from elected officials

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My priorities are tackling climate change and affordable housing and health care, and better funding for public education. A top priority next session would be to pass a bill that will fund the study of the cost of implementing universal healthcare. I was disappointed that House Bill 24-1075, Analysis of Universal Health-Care Payment System, died on the clock. I will be a champion of this legislation, if elected.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I am a veteran, former public high school teacher, and mental health counselor. I will bring healthy, civil dialogue to the state Capitol, while championing mental healthcare, women's reproductive rights, access to public lands for people of varied abilities, and initiatives to protect communities from climate change disaster. As a veteran, I will do everything I can to take care of fellow veterans. As a former teacher, I will ensure our public schools have adequate support and funding.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

The first bill I will initiate will give patients more access to quality mental health care providers and clinics by enacting requirements for insurance providers, especially Medicaid payers, to raise the minimum number of licensed mental health providers on a given insurance plan. Too many patients seeking mental health services in Colorado are unable to find providers with availability or who can meet in-person in their geographic area, leading people to suffer in crisis or turn toward maladaptive coping mechanisms.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I am the only candidate running for HD 52 that refuses corporate money. I made this pledge because I only want to be beholden to the people of Fort Collins, not giant special interests. I also bring a perspective and expertise that is desperately needed in our state Capitol. I have a tax background, but also bring my lived experience as a person of color. We need to have diverse backgrounds at the table.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority is public education funding. In Fort Collins our schools faced closure, and we will unfortunately have to reconsider school consolidation if we don’t fix the school funding formula from the State. We need to raise our per-pupil funding. We can bring in additional funds by closing corporate tax loopholes, requiring our top polluters pay their fair share, and taxing out of state corporate landlords at a higher rate.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

My experience with leaders and activists across my community and state ensures that I am well prepared for the role of state legislator. I've been fighting for the rights of Coloradans for nearly two decades including for reproductive healthcare and economic empowerment. I worked at the Colorado Capitol for six years, advancing sustainable, clean, renewable energy policies, such as the Renewable Energy Standard, Community Solar Gardens, and a bill to shut down coal power plants.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

Affordable housing is a top concern here in Fort Collins and across Colorado. I will collaborate to lift barriers and address market conditions to ease the development of housing options for residents at all stages of life from students to senior citizens. I will work to increase density in transit or other high opportunity corridors and will prioritize deeply affordable and workforce housing. I anticipate funding will come from the General Fund.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

We need common-sense plans and strategies that are people-driven and push back on the thinking that government is the answer. People should hire (vote) for me to work for them because I will always use my morals and what is in the best interest of the people in Northeast Colorado to be my compass when making decisions. I have conservative and rural values, and I will be their freedom fighter.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

I will be an extension of our voice from the plains to the Gold Dome in Denver. My top priority has and will continue to be supporting agriculture and advocating for our rural communities. One of the best ways to bridge the rural-urban divide is through education and outreach efforts. This costs nothing but time and a willingness to work for all the people in Colorado, because every community is different.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

I'll be responsible with our tax dollars, ensure that public safety and education are funded, and work to decrease fees, taxes, and regulations that stifle prosperity and housing attainability in Colorado. I'm a strong supporter of small government, personal responsibility, and individual rights and freedoms, and I believe in keeping TABOR as voters intended. I communicate well and am able to cultivate relationships and build coalitions necessary to get legislation passed, amended, or halted.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

Education will always be one of my top priorities. Federally-required programs to teach children English are very underfunded, and our students' standardized test scores are still below national norms. While I believe most decisions regarding education should be made at the local school board level, the state has imposed mandates that must be met, and no one can argue that we need an educated and literate population. The state constitution requires funding for schools.

Why should the voters elect you to office?

As the state of Colorado is being overrun with illegal aliens, we need America First fighters in the state House now more than ever to stand up to the satanic left. Voters should choose me because I will not crack under pressure. I will stand strong and put America First.

What is your top priority if elected and how will it be funded?

My top priority as the state Representative for House District 65 will be to never cave on my America First values to the satanic left and to protect our state.
