Cybercriminals claim to have obtained the banking details of 30 million Santander customers.Cybercriminals, known as ShinyHunters, are attempting to sell alleged banking data of 30 million Santander customers for $2 million. Santander confirmed a third-party data breach affecting customer and employee data. The hackers’ forum post offers various data sets, including credit card and account details, and invites Santander to purchase the data. ShinyHunters also claimed an attack on TicketMaster, but experts suggest skepticism, as it may be a publicity stunt for a new hacking forum. Santander stated the compromised database did not include transactional data or login credentials, ensuring that customer transactions remain secure.

La BCC ordonne aux banques de limiter les TPE exclusivement au Franc Congolais avant le 31/07/2024La Banque Centrale du Congo (BCC) intensifie la régulation du secteur des paiements pour encourager l'adoption du Franc congolais (CDF). Suite à la réunion du Conseil des Ministres de juillet 2023, la BCC vise à augmenter l'utilisation du CDF pour les transactions, spécialement via les TPE.Cette mesure de la BCC s’applique strictement aux TPE. La Direction de la Surveillance des Systèmes de Paiement a pour mission d’assurer le soutien requis et de garantir l’application rigoureuse de cette directive, qui sera mise en vigueur au plus tard le 31 juillet 2024Avec seulement 13% des TPE configurés pour le CDF, la prédominance des devises étrangères est évidente. La BCC mandate donc la reconfiguration des TPE par les institutions financières pour accepter exclusivement le CDF, renforçant ainsi l'économie nationale et diminuant la dépendance aux monnaies étrangères.
